Finding a Topic that's Just Right

How do you go from a broad topic with too much information to one that you will be able to find enough information but not too much? First, it's important to recognize how broad or narrow a topic is. Try the following exercise to see if you can put the topics in order from the broadest to the narrowest.

Good job! When you find too much information on a topic, you don't need to start over with a new topic. Instead, you can try narrowing your focus. On the following pages, you will learn a few ways to do this.
