Complete these steps to begin your educational journey.

1. Apply to Río Hondo College
The first step is applying! All new students must complete an online application.
You will receive a nine-digit student ID number by email within 48 hours of submitting your application. After you receive your student ID number, return to this page to finish the remaining steps required for enrollment and registration.

2. Complete Placement Test, If Applicable
This step is only applicable to students interested in ESL classes.
After completing the noncredit application, please call one of the educational centers below to make an appointment for a placement test.

3. Complete Online Orientation & Meet with a Counselor
Watch a short orientation video about Río Hondo College’s Continuing Education and Noncredit Division and its programs.
After watching the video, please make an appointment with a counselor to discuss your academic options.
Counselors are available to provide information about noncredit programs and offer general counseling. General counseling could include educational planning, class registration, transition information, and more.
Services include:

- Transition options
- Goal setting
- Certificate petitions
- Vocational counseling

4. Register for Classes
You can register for classes through AccessRío. View the class schedule for available courses.
To view classes on the class schedule:
- Visit the class schedule.
- Select the term and click Select Term.
- Select the subject. All noncredit courses are noted with the letter N (example: NESL).
- Click Search on the bottom of the page.
- Select the course number (CRN) for the desired course.

Then, you should be ready to register for classes!
To register for classes:
- Log in to AccessRío
- Select the Registration tab.
- Select Add or Drop Classes.
- Select the term you are registering for.
- Add your course CRN numbers and click Submit Changes.
If a class is full, you may be placed on a waitlist. Check your RíoMail for waitlist notifications.
