The SWEC staff is honored to provide some college services and resources at our location for all students:
Bike Rack – There is a bike rack located behind the main classroom building against the back wall.
Bookstore – The bookstore has provided a vending machine that sells school supplies and Scantrons. It is located in the Student Lounge, in the Annex building.
Bus Lines – Bus schedules are available in the SWEC Office. Metro’s 120 Line provides a West bound bus stop at the corner of Colima and Telegraph Rd. The 120 Line also stops at Telegraph and Valley View for both east and west bound.
Computer Lab – Open daily. Please check the posted hours or call the office at (562) 941-2356. The computers are available to students for the registration process, to research projects, study for tests, and complete homework assignments. Wi-Fi is also available, please see a staff member for the password.
Copy Services – SWEC does not provide copy services for students. However, there is a business called CopyCats Digital Solutions located across the street from SWEC that provides copying services. The address is 14360 Telegraph Rd., (562) 941-6615, it is opened Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Counseling Services – Academic and career counseling services are available at SWEC. Please call (562) 941-2356 or stop by the office to make an appointment.
Disabled Students Programs & Services (DSPS) – Accommodations can be made for students in need of extra time and/or a quiet space to take exams on site. Other services available by arrangement with DSPS at the main campus.
Emergency Blue Light – There is an emergency intercom that serves a s a direct link to the main campus. It is located in the parking lot near the northeast corner of the main building.
Financial Aid – Students may use the computer lab at SWEC to apply for financial aid. Apply at www.fafsa.ed.gov, the code for Rio Hondo College is #001269.
Food – There are soft drinks and bottled water available in a vending machine located in the Student Lounge area in the Annex. Also, there are eateries nearby on Telegraph and across the street from SWEC.
Orientation – New and Continuing Students may access their My Online Orientation by logging onto AccessRio.>>Click on the Student Tab and then >>Click on the My Online Orientation. Students may use the SWEC computer lab to complete their orientation.
Parking – Free parking is available to students in any unmarked stall. There are reserved parking spaces directly behind the north wall of the main classroom building for RHC faculty and staff only. Please do not park in any stalls designated for Sheriff personnel.
Smoking/Vaping Area – Smoking or Vaping is not permitted within twenty (20) feet of the classrooms and office area. There is a designated smoking/vaping area located behind the main classroom building.
Student Lounge – There is a student lounge located in the Annex building. Vending machines provide students with beverages and school supplies, including scantrons.
Tutoring Services – Math tutoring is available for registered math students through a virtual connection to the Math Science Center (MSC).
