Request for Letters and Forms
Students who are receiving or who have received psychological services may have special requests for letters and correspondence to be written or for information to be disclosed to an outside agency or person for a number of reasons. Please allow at least 7-10 working days for such requests to be processed.
Since the counseling relationship between a student and therapist is private and confidential all information (written and verbal) cannot be released without the student’s prior written consent. If the student has a request for information to be disclosed on their behalf they must sign the Consent For Release of Information form (available in our office). The release is valid for 90 days from the date it was signed.
Psychological Evaluations
The therapists in psychological services are here to provide basic services for Rio Hondo students including crisis counseling, individual & group counseling, consultation, outreach and referrals. At times students may need more in-depth psychological evaluations for career, medical, immigration, legal or other purposes. Our office does not provide services of this nature. If a student needs this type of service one of our staff members will provide a referral to an off-campus licensed psychologist who can conduct such an evaluation for a fee.
