California Community Colleges are at a critical juncture. Sticking with the status quo won’t cut it in the continued- and post-pandemic environment, where students endure deeply entrenched poverty, and institutions will confront disruptive demographic and mounting competition. In a volatile, uncertain environment, colleges need to be acutely attuned to the shifts that are taking place in their communities and identify opportunities, roadblocks and challenges for students.
This inspiring webinar will highlight how students, faculty, and college leaders are designing for student success by redefining targeted enrollments, having more concerted focuses on persistence, and by centering student needs in their onboarding strategies. This two-part webinar will summarize enrollment and persistence data, and provide robust panel conversations on actions colleges are taking to support students’ successful academic trajectories.
Guest presenters will include:
- Dr. Pamela Luster, President, San Diego Mesa College
- Dr. Ricky Shabazz, President, San Diego City College
- Dolores Davison, President, Academic Senate for California Community Colleges
- Diana Rodriguez, Chancellor, San Bernardino Community College District
- Student Representative, Sierra College
