A limited amount of grants are available each year to support individual, department and/or division professional development projects. Monies can be used for travel to conferences, on or off campus trainings, or other independently designed professional growth initiatives. Not sure what can be funded or how to proceed? Grant applications may be submitted on a rolling basis and reviewed at a twice monthly meeting.*
Funding Maximums
~Full time employees may apply for a maximum of $1000.00 in a fiscal year
~Adjunct faculty and part-time employees may apply for a maximum of $300.00 per semester
~Groups/Departments can apply for up to $2400.00 in funding. $2400.00 is also the maximum available to support groups seeking to attend the same conference/training.
~Low cost grants cover requests up to $300
Which Application Should I Use?
Group Learning Grant – Use this form if your project is geared toward a group/department/division retreat, training, or speaker.
Low Cost Grant – Use this form if your project is $300 or less.
Individual Project and Group Conference Grant – Use this form if your individual project is over $300 or if a group of individuals is seeking to attend the same conference. Groups seeking to attend the same conference/training must each fill out this form, however can copy and paste the same information.

Below you will find fill-able applications and a link to a tutorial to walk you through how to insert and route signatures for your application virtually. Please be aware of the following:
- Applications should be opened with Adobe Acrobat or Preview.
- When you are ready to save what you have input, click 1st on “Print” and then save the file as a PDF to your device/folder.
- Have the completed application available when you view the “Requesting a Grant Using Adobe Sign” tutorial and be sure to add Brenda Moran to the CC of the Adobe routing process.
- After securing all signatures, save a copy as a PDF and send via attachment to Brenda Moran @ bmoran@riohondo.edu . * Applications will be reviewed on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month and must be received by the preceding Friday.

Requesting a Grant Using Adobe Sign
You can request signatures for your grant using our campus license of Adobe Sign. Please use the following link for that tutorial. Please submit a help desk ticket if you need a license for Adobe Sign.

Please follow up with your supervisor and the Vice-President’s office to ensure that all forms are signed and submitted to the staff development office by the grant deadline. If your project is taking place off campus and in person, you will need to complete a Travel Authorization as well once you hear if your project is approved.

CSEA Educational Reimbursement Fund
Are you aware that CSEA staff can get up to $1,100 each year to reimburse costs for education and/or trainings? Priority is given for education/training directly related to current or projected job duties, but if funds allow, it may be possible to receive support for cultural enrichment and/or other general education courses. Be sure to seek approval from your supervisor AND the CSEA/Human Resources committee prior to registration. Funds are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
