Exhibition Opening: “Sticks and Stones: Materiality and Meaning in Contemporary Art” Join us for the opening of “Sticks and Stones,” an exhibition exploring contemporary approaches to material and aesthetics through the works of Tricia Lynn Avant, Rochelle Botello, Danie Cansino, Jennifer Celio, Nancy Evans, Cole James and Alexis Zoto.

“Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.” This familiar phrase underscores a powerful exploration of resilience and human experience at the heart of this exhibition.
“Sticks and Stones” examines how contemporary artists utilize a variety of materials—from stone and wood to fabric and mixed media—to confront themes of power, vulnerability, identity, and social justice. By combining elements of craft with fine art, the artists blur traditional boundaries, encouraging viewers to reflect on their relationships with both the physical and the intangible.
