WHAT: Río Hondo College will commemorate 60 years of serving its community with a daylong celebration of the College’s commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility and anti-racism, which officially opened its doors to students in 1963. The event – which is free and open to the public – will feature vibrant live music and cultural performances, international cuisine, games and other fun-filled activities throughout the day.
WHEN: Friday, Sept. 15
SCHEDULE:
Group photo forming the number “60” at the soccer field: 9:30 a.m.
Celebration with music, food and games at lower mid-quad: 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Games and entertainment at lower quad: 3 to 5 p.m.
Ballet Folklórico, Mariachi, Grito Contest, Presentations by Dignitaries in the L Tower Breezeway: 5 to 8 p.m.
