New Entitlement Cal Grant Awardees Requirements
High School Seniors:
- Apply for Cal Grant by filing a FAFSA between January 1and March 2 of your senior year.
- GPA verification – March 2 is also the GPA verification deadline for new Cal Grant applicants. Students, who are new to Rio Hondo College and have fewer than 24 college units, must contact their previous school (High School or Former College) to have their GPA verification sent to CSAC.
- Confirmation of high school graduation required. Cal Grant Entitlement participants must confirm their high school graduation before being awarded. Students may use Webgrants for Students (WGS) to complete this requirement. Student can begin to self-certify beginning May 15, 2015. The California Student Aid Commission (CSAC) notifies students regularly to verify their high school graduation status.
- Consequence if not completed: Withdraw from the program in the spring term if their high school graduation is not confirmed.
Students must complete all requirements on Webgrants for Students (WGS) before a Cal Grant award can be offered. Requirements are usually marked in RED. Satisfied requirement are usually marked in GREEN.
