Logging into Canvas

Please bookmark the following address, this is the direct link to your course login:

http://riohondo.instructure.com

Before you login….. Did you make sure your class already started? You are not able to login until your class officially start. If added you added a course(s) on or after the start date, there may be a 2-business day delay from the time Admissions officially enrolls you in your course. Make sure you are using the correct username and password? See below:
  • Your Canvas Username uses this format (see sample below):
    John+.+smith1234
    First Name dot Last Name Last 4 digits of student ID
    example username: John.smith1234
  • Your initial Canvas Password uses your *AccessRio password which is your 6 digit birthday unless you have changed your password (see sample Below)::
    example password: 071785 if  born on July 17, 1985

*Please note: it might be a different password if you changed your AccessRio password.

After you enter you credentials, you will be prompted to allow your Rio Hondo email to be used to authenticate your login (no other info will be used).

  1. ask me again at next login: you will be asked each time you login
  2. ask me again if information to be provided to this service changes: if anything changes, like your email or any other change in the authentication, you will be alerted
  3. do not ask me again: you will never be asked to authenticate your login again

Once you select how you want to release your email info, click on “Accept”.

Information to be provided to Service

It is critical that you log into your course in Canvas within the first week of the session. If you have not logged on by the end of the first week, you may be dropped.
