Technology is used in many different areas of our lives. It not only improves our surroundings but also makes life easier. In school, technology is being used now more that ever. We e-mail our instructors and classmates and regularly use the internet to finish homework or do research. Canvas uses technology to deliver a classroom through your computer. It uses a browser to present the course to you.
Through the browser you are able to view and login to your course. There are different types of browsers that you can use to login to your course. You just have to make sure they are Canvas compatible, before you login to your course.
You may download compatible versions of Firefox, Google Chrome, Edge and Safari using the following links:

The software that you will be using to access your course will be your browser and Canvas (this software is free and no fee is required to use), plus any others that your course may require such as Adobe Acrobat. This will all depend on your instructor and your course.
The hardware that you will be using to access your course will be your desktop or laptop, monitor, keyboard and mouse, plus any others that may be required for your course. For example, you might be taking a course in Computer Information Systems that may require additional hardware.
