The Sociology Department seeks to give students a foundation in understanding the behaviors, interactions, structures and inequality that are present within society. The Sociology faculty is committed to providing students comprehensive knowledge and analytical understanding of society and the individual through various courses including gender, sexuality, marriage and family, criminology, race and ethnicity, and social problems. their goal is to provide pathways and resources toward student success using the mechanism of Sociological knowledge while emphasizing the cultivation of critical thinking skills by usign sociology as a tool to foster student’s SOCIOLOGICAL IMAGINATION.
