“Essential Workers” features two 2020 MFA graduates from California State University, Fullerton. Ceramic artists, Jose Flores Nava and Desmond Jervis, use clay to create works that discuss the relationship between medium, labor and identity. Moreover, their pieces speak to concerns regarding their personal experiences as artists and men of color living in an era of extreme rhetoric and division.
