A graduation petition is an application for students to get their degree or certificate awarded. An associates degree requires completion of general education + major requirements + sometimes electives = for a total of 60 units. For more details, click on the video below. In addition, students applying to get their associates degree awarded need to have at least 12 units completed at Rio Hondo College. For a certificate, you only need to complete the courses required by the specific certificate. If you stay enrolled continuously, you can choose to graduate under the requirements that were in place when you started, when you finish, or any time in between. You can even have multiple majors or degrees, as long as you meet all requirements.
