Biography
Hesma Valdes is a committed student leader and advocate at Río Hondo College, serving as the Student Trustee on the Board of Trustees, where she represents the student body in key policy discussions and campus initiatives. She also works in the Student Life and Leadership department, organizing events and enhancing student engagement.
As a Student Ambassador, she assists prospective students and represents the college at official events. Additionally, she is actively involved in the Student Senate for California Community Colleges (SSCCC), contributing to statewide student representation. Hesma is pursuing Associate of Arts degrees in Sociology, Social Work and Human Services, and Psychology, with an anticipated graduation in May 2025.
Dedicated to student success and institutional improvement, she continues to advocate for enhanced resources and student-centered policies.
