Rosaelva Lomeli was elected to the Río Hondo Community College District Board of Trustees in November 2018. She represents Area 3, which includes Whittier and South El Monte.
Biography
She is a Science Teacher at Suva Intermediate School with the Montebello Unified School District with more than 25 years of teaching experience and a passion for student success. Rosaelva has prepared hundreds of students for their college journey, many who are current students at Río Hondo College.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Mount St. Mary’s College, a Master’s Degree in Education and Secondary Credential in Biological Science from Whittier College.
Rosaelva was raised by two incredible working class parents who instilled a strong work ethic and dedication to achieving success in education. Both her father and mother are role models who inspired her with their tenacity and resilience in life which has led her to where she is today.
