The Open Educational Resources Committee, a committee of the Academic Senate, meets to discuss current trends in higher education of utilizing open educational resources (OER), Zero Textbook Cost (ZTC) resources, and Low Textbook Cost (LTC) resources; to keep abreast of California legislation regarding the use of OER; to encourage faculty in the practices of OER; and to inform the Río Hondo College campus of its findings through the Academic Senate.

Open Educational Resources are high-quality teaching, learning, and research materials that reside in the public domain or have been released under an intellectual property license that permits their free use and repurposing by others.
