As a key component of the Academic Senate, the Curriculum Committee is responsible for shaping the academic offerings at Río Hondo College. The committee reviews and recommends course and program additions, revisions, and deletions, as well as policies related to academic offerings. These recommendations are then presented to the Río Hondo Community College District Board of Trustees, ensuring the continued growth and excellence of the college’s educational programs.

Academic Year Deadlines

Course and Program Proposals:

  • Launch in CurrIQunet by October 10th.
  • Complete all required approvals by noon on October 29th to appear on the November 5th agenda for a first reading.
  • Approved proposals will be included in the 2025-2026 catalog.

General Education (GE) Requests:

  • Submit (with division approval) by November 3rd.

Distance Education (DE) Modality Approvals:

  • To offer a course via DE in Spring 2026, obtain a second reading approval by last meeting in Spring 2025.
  • To offer a course via DE in Summer or Fall 2026, secure second reading approval by the last meeting in November 2025.

Ensure all proposals and requests meet the deadlines to avoid delays in implementation.
