Academic Rank Committee

The Academic Rank Committee, a committee of the Academic Senate, examines applications for academic rank advancement. Committee members verify that each applicant has met the minimum requirements and is qualified for the academic rank for which they have applied. The Committee submits the verified applications to the President of the Academic Senate for approval of academic rank advancement of the applicants.

Please read the board policy and administrative procedure below for academic rank criteria:

1 – [October 3 to December 3 at 11:59pm] Academic Rank application period is open.
2 – [December 3 at 11:59pm] Email Academic Rank Applications and supporting evidence to [email protected] before 12/3 at 11:59pm to be considered for this year. If you miss this date and time, please consider applying next year.
3 – [December 4 to January 31] The Academic Rank Committee will review applications. Applicants that do not meet the minimum requirements will be notified.
4 – [February 2022] Committee approved applications will be submitted to the Senate for approval.
5 -[March 2022] If academic rank applications are approved by the Senate, they will be sent to the Superintendent/President for inclusion on the March Board of Trustees agenda for BOT approval.
6 – [April 2022] If the BOT approves the academic rank applications in March, the recipients will be commended by the BOT at their April meeting.
