All students are strongly encouraged to be life long learners and continue with their education. The Division of Health Science and Nursing has created partnerships with various higher educational organizations to provide seamless academic pathways that allow our ADN students to begin their BSN course work while still in the ADN program. These seamless pathways enable the ADN student to obtain their BSN approximately one year after earning their ADN.

CSULA

Río Hondo College ADN Program joined the Collaborative with CSULA. Through a grant from the Robert Woods Johnson foundation we are able to place 8-10 students per year into a program with CSULA starting in the summer between their first and second year at Río Hondo College. These students are selected through a competitive process which includes applications and interviews. Students are notified of their acceptance in the late spring of their 1st year.

After completing their APU course work during the summer, ADN students return to Río Hondo to finish up the ADN program. Once ADN students graduate , they are ready to take the NCLEX-RN and continue classes at APU. The BSN degree would be completed one year from the graduation of the ADN program. This is a non competitive program at this time. The first cohort started June 18, 2014 and are set to graduate with their BSN in June 2016.

This is what one of our students has to say about Azusa Pacific University…
