Join GYOTP
Students receive:
- From community college to the classroom within 5 years: streamlined and guided teacher pathway from community college, university/credential, to employment
- 1:1 mentorship with mentor teacher(s) in local school district
- Dedicated academic and career counseling/advising
- Community Mentoring Network (CMN) events and workshops
- Cohort engagement through community building and professional development events
- Curated financial aid advising and opportunities (striving for debt-free teacher education)
- Employment opportunities while going through school and potential priority hiring consideration in local school districts after graduation
GYOTP Eligibility Requirements
Community College Students who are:
- Currently enrolled at one of the three partner colleges (Río Hondo, Cerritos, West LA)
- Have enough units to be within a year of transfer by Fall 2025
- Good academic standing (minimum 2.0 GPA in all transferable courses)
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
- LiveScan will eventually be required for classroom visitations/education jobs
