Río Hondo College Fire Technology Academy Programs offers a California State Fire Marshal Accredited Firefighter 1 Academy, Wildland Fire Academy (with a Type II Hand-crew tied to the Angeles National Forest), and a Los Angeles County approved Emergency Medical Technician Program.
Río Hondo College also offers the California State Fire Marshal Certification Track courses and provides a Regional “Truck Company Operations” Academy. The Homeland Security/Regional Fire Training Site provides training to local area Fire Departments and law enforcement personnel, which includes:
- Confined Space Rescue
- Trench Rescue
- Rescue Systems
- Search Dog Training
- Hazardous Materials Response
