Assessment
All new and non-assessed students are required to take placement
tests in order to enroll in appropriate English, reading and math
classes. You may call (562) 463-7226 to make an
appointment for an assessment test. Math assessment scores
are only valid for two years.
Seniors contact your college representative to sign up for your
on-campus assessment test. Enrichment students can come on
campus Monday to Saturday to take a complementary assessment test.

Orientation
All new students are expected to attend an orientation to Rio Hondo
College services and educational programs. Information on
registration procedures, course placements and recommended courses
are provided during orientations. Also, the development of a
Student Educational Plan is reviewed. Call (562) 908-3467 with

Outreach Representative
College outreach representatives are available to distribute
college information literature at high schools weekly. Please
check with your individual schools to confirm the schedule.

Presentations
College outreach staff are available to make college information
presentations in school classrooms and participate in college
information fairs.

Tours of the college campus are available to local schools and
community groups. Campus tours may be scheduled in advance by
calling (562) 908-3498.
