Claudia is a first-generation American, born and raised in the Los Angeles area. She studied Spanish at the University of California at Riverside, receiving her B.A. in Spanish Literature and her M.A. in Spanish (Linguistics track) in 1992 and 1996, respectively. She is an Associate Professor of Spanish at Rio Hondo and holds a current California clear credential in Spanish.

   Chris Bowen came to Rio Hondo in 1999 from the Glendale Unified School District. He has also taught part-time at California State University, Long Beach where he received his Master's degree in seventeenth-century French literature in 1996. Mr. Bowen has studied French language and civilization abroad in Paris at the Université de Paris La Sorbonne and received his Bachelor's degree from Georgia State University in Atlanta.
